Butterfly, bug and bird patches are a great way to turn an ordinary t-shirt or sweatshirt into a favorite piece with a story. All you have to do is select a picture, place it on the clothes and iron it onto the fabric with the help of an iron - the child can then decorate his T-shirt, sweatpants, backpack or even a pillow with his favorite animals.
Iron-ons are useful not only for decoration, but also to cover stains and small holes, so they save a lot of favorite pieces that would otherwise end up in the closet or thrown away.
How to iron on step by step
A few tips for iron-ons:
- Create your own "merch" - decorate a t-shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants, skirt, cap or backpack and thus have your own original piece that no one else has.
- Mark your things – iron a motif on a bag for kindergarten, a bag for slippers, a pillow, a ring bag... the child will easily recognize his things.
- Create gifts – make an apron for grandma, a couch cushion for dad or a treasure bag for a friend.
- Joint creation - children can first lay out the motifs, arrange them, "uncleanly" put them on the textile and then iron them together with an adult.
- Tell stories – put together a scene from the forest, a story from a trip or a fairy tale from pictures and then tell it to yourself based on the pictures.
- Play as a designer – try different combinations of motifs, layout on clothes, choose the “main” image and accessories to it.
After ironing, wash the fabric inside out at max. 40 °C. Using a dryer shortens the life of the print. Iron only from the reverse side or over baking paper.
